Well, does it? How much does running all those servers in all those data centers in the cloud consume in electricity? What about the insane carbon footprint of Spam? But what about all the savings by telecommuting? What about fostering innovation by sharing information about new technologies that lead to more efficient use of resources? A pretty complex topic, but I am of the opinion that new technologies and the internet will play a crucial part in the transition to a Renewable Energy future.
