Book review: Without the hot air
There are many books on the market about how to solve the climate crisis. But I found it hard to understand most of the quoted facts and to form your own opinion about their validity. David MacKay takes an approach to cut out the theories and focus on the pure numbers. His simple question is: "Can we live off renewable energy sources?". In his book, he compares our average energy consumption and balances that to the theoretically possible clean energy production. This common sense approach helps you understand what is even worth discussing and what is just "hot air".
You can buy the book from amazon, or download it for free as a PDF here.
Thanks to Stan Swete and Rick Bergquist for pointing out this excellent book to me.
